Diamond Star back on silver screen for MMFF entry

After a two-year hiatus from the silver screen, Maricel Soriano, the country’s “Diamond Star,” is now back via Regal Multimedia’s “Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow,” an official entry to the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).

Maricel Soriano stars in the MMFF entry "Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow"

At the grand press conference of “Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow” held at the Imperial Suites Hotel early this week, Soriano expressed her certainty that  this movie” is the perfect choice for her comeback. Soriano’s last full-role movie was “T2” by Star Cinema, while her last MMFF movie, and incidentally, produced by Regal, was “Bahay Kubo,” which earned her a Best Actress award.

“Nung nag-meet kami ni Jun (Lana) para pagusapan yung pelikula - ito ay pagkatapos kong mabasa yung script - dun ko naramdaman na magkatono kami. D’un pa lang ay tumaba na ang puso ko at naisip ko na itong pelikulang ito ay para talaga sa akin,” Soriano narrated.

Soriano will star opposite Gabby Concepcion, and the Diamond Star was all praises for the former matinee idol.

“Napakaganda ng bonding naman. Andami naming napaguusapan, at yung usap namin, may depth na hindi kagaya dati na panay fancy talk lang. Now we talk about life, mga anak namin at even ang mga pelikula namin before at iba pang mga nakatutuwang bagay,” she said.

Joining Soriano and Concepcion at the cast of  “Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow” are Jericho Rosales, Lovi Poe, Eula Caballero, Dennis Trillo, Solenn Heussaff, Paulo Avelino, Agot Isidro and Ronaldo Valdez.
