Lenten pilgrimage in Rizal

MANILA, Philippines - Green Faith Travels brings pilgrims to churches in Rizal on March 21 for its Third Lenten Pilgrimage of Faith and Heritage, which will have for the first time a recollection with pilgrimage chaplain Fr. Alex Balatbat of the Diocese of Antipolo.

Now on its fourth year, Green Faith Travels is composed of Catholic church servants whose apostolate work is organizing meaningful spiritual pilgrimages and travels that will lead pilgrims to spiritual healing and rejuvenation of faith.

The traditional Visita Iglesia, which brings pilgrims to prayer and reflection on the passion and death of Jesus Christ, is part of the evangelization efforts of the group.

The Lenten pilgrimage will be guided by the theme “Fast from Indifference, Feast on Love,” inspired by the Lenten message of Pope Francis this year to overcome the “globalization of indifference.”

Pilgrims will pray and reflect during the recollection at the Regina Rosarii Institute for Contemplation in Asia or Regina RICA in Tanay after mass at Antipolo Cathedral or the Shrine of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage and Immaculate Conception Parish.

In the afternoon, they will pray in the following churches: St. Mary Magdalene (Pililla); San Ildefonso de Toledo (Tanay); St. Joseph (Baras); and St. Jerome (Morong).

Pilgrimage tour cost of P2,000 per person includes round-trip transport via air-conditioned tourist bus, breakfast, lunch, snacks, water, juice packs and a pilgrim’s kit. Deadline for payment of registration fee is on or before Wednesday, March 18, 2015.
