Best Western opens first Cebu hotel

MANILA, Philippines - Best Western International, the world's largest hotel chain, opened last Thursday its first hotel in Cebu, offering upscale accommodation and superb service in the Queen City of the South.

Best Western Plus Lex Cebu Hotel is a 10-storey hotel offering 83 guestrooms that include five suites. Rooms are equipped with LED televisions with cable channels and complimentary WiFi. Guests can also use leisure facilities that include a fitness center and an outdoor, infinity-edged swimming pool.

The hotel also offers a 24-hour room service and guests can dine in the hotel's international restaurant.

“The Philippines is one of the most exciting markets in Asia right now, and Cebu City is right at the heart of the country’s growth,” said Glenn de Souza, Best Western International’s vice president for international operations in Asia and the Middle East.

“With the Philippine government recently announcing plans to attract 10 million tourists by 2016, it’s easy to see the potential for development in the country. With its coastal location, easy accessibility and vast array of attractions, the future looks incredibly bright for Cebu City, and we are delighted to finally have a presence in this exciting market,” de Souza added.

The Cebu hotel is the sixth Best Western hotel in the Philippines and the second upscale Best Western Plus.
