MANILA, Philippines - Yoshinoya’s Beef Gyudon Eating Contest, now on its fourth year, had its friends from the blogging community, TV, radio and print media joining the tough task of finishing the most number of beef bowls under time pressure.
The challengers were given five minutes to dig in and stuff themselves with the world’s best-selling beef bowl. Some had a hard time chomping down the heavy rice meal topped with thin slices of sumptuous beef, but most of the challengers were wearing their game faces on and flipped bowls empty as much as they could — and as fast as they could.
In the end, only four finalists remained who battled it out in the Grand Match yesterday at New Glorietta Activity Center. The four finalists were Florencio Jusay Jr. of manualtolyf.com, Romel Balbin of UNTV, Totoy Bato of Yes FM, and Rusty Roman of Dyaryo Ngayon.
