Marriott Manila's sales & marketing, engineering teams bag awards

MANILA, Philippines - Marriott International recently conferred Marriott Manila another valuable recognition, backed by awards for both the sales and marketing and engineering departments.

The sales and marketing team bagged the Best Team Driving Results Award, emphasizing the property’s accomplishments in its first year of operations, particularly in room revenue exceeding the budget at 53 percent, hotel revenue above budget in its first year, and earning the No. 1 spot in the competitive set twice in the last four months of 2010.

Recognizing that the sales efforts were ably supported by the marketing communications team, there was a special mention on the public relations mileage the hotel garnered across print and visual media which has played a significant role in raising the overall profile of the hotel.

At the same time, the engineering department received four major awards, namely Bronze Award for Everything in Working Order (EIWO) for obtaining the third highest score in this category among all Marriott brand hotels in the Pacific region; Most Improved Everything in Working Order for having the most improved everything in working order score from 2009 to 2010; Bronze Award for Building Well-Maintained score in 2010; and the Mustang Award for successfully opening and operating the hotel resulting in high scores in the guest satisfaction survey.
