MANILA, Philippines - The Philippines’ Platinum Fireworks Inc. proved once again that Filipinos can compete with the best in the world as it repeated its second runner-up finish in the recent 22nd annual Macau International Fireworks Display Contest.
Platinum’s presentation in the annual competition of light and sound was pitted against over 100 international entries from different countries, including those of host Macau, which considers fireworks a major handicraft and an important element of its heritage, drawn from the two countries that have shaped its unique culture and tradition, China and Portugal.
Macau has been holding the annual event since 1989, starting with just five participating teams.
Platinum Fireworks was the Philippines representative to the 15th, 16th and 17th staging of the annual international event, which it considered as an excellent opportunity to showcase its own fireworks creativity and new technology.
In last year’s 21st edition, it received its first second runner-up trophy, a feat it repeated in this year’s 22nd Macau International Fireworks Display Contest.
The company is based in what is generally considered as the country’s fireworks capital, Sta. Maria, Bulacan.
Established and registered only in 2002 as the marketing arm of Six-J Fireworks, Platinum Fireworks has already established a sterling reputation in the country, creating fireworks displays for some of the most important events and top establishments.
Platinum guarantees the exceptional quality of its broad range of products and services. As company president Joel Santa Ana said, “Every Platinum pyrotechnics display is a visual display masterfully executed with technical precision, timing and artistry.”
