Room and dine with SpongeBob

MANILA, Philippines – SpongeBob and his friends from Bikini Bottom are making their weekend getaways at the Makati Shangri-La.

Fans and guests can check-in to “live” with the famous sea sponge in five themed deluxe rooms filled with SpongeBob merchandise. SpongeBob’s rooms are available until May 31.

Also, kids will surely enjoy their meals as they dine in true yellow style at the Kids Club Corner in the hotel’s Red Restaurant.

The SpongeBob deluxe rooms feature exclusive colorful bed linens, fun-shaped pillows, lampshades, stationery supplies and bath products, among others.

The Kids Club Corner, open every Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., boasts an impressive range of SpongeBob items that children can busy themselves with while dining. Items include crayons, activity books, puzzle cubes, tattoo sheets and even plush SpongeBob displays.

“Makati Shangri-La is very pleased and excited to be the first hotel in the Philippines to team up with Nickelodeon and celebrate the 10th anniversary of their number one property, SpongeBob SquarePants, with a fun and wholesome experience for the entire family,” said Cecile Weber, sales and marketing director of Makati Shangri-La.

“Viewers have enjoyed SpongeBob’s infectious sense of humor and boundless optimism for 10 years. He is a pop culture icon whose top-rating show continues to reach out to more and more viewers around the world,” said Jack Yew, vice president for consumer product in South Asia and Greater China of MTV Networks Asia.

The SpongeBob deluxe rooms are offered at P7,300 per night. A special double room package is also available at P13,500 per night for families that book a regular deluxe room and a SpongeBob deluxe room for their young ones.
