PAL’s night of miles & smiles

Many smiles turned to joyful laughter when the PALSmiles Frequent Flyer Program was re-launched as the all-new Mabuhay Miles.

Two years in the planning, Philippine Airlines Mabuhay Miles finally came to fruition at the Waterfront Hotel in the Queen City of the South, Cebu City. It was a night to remember as loyal customers, clients and members of the media were treated to flowing wine, the Apo Hiking Society, a grand raffle and a showcase of the program’s latest features.

Top jeweler and socialite Amparito Lhullier, who has racked up more than a whopping 100,000 miles this year alone (mostly on first-class trips to North America), was called up to the stage as one of the airlines’ most loyal Cebuano passengers.

With the help of the evening’s hostess Ruffa Gutierrez (herself a Mabuhay Elite member), Lhuillier (Premiere Elite, of course!) demonstrated the airline’s new information system by logging on at www.philippine airlines.com, whereby enrollment and more personalized services are now made possible. PAL has invested millions of dollars in its state-of-the-art Customer Relationship Information System (CRIS).

"Aside from being able to meet the changing needs and demands of our customers, the Mabuhay Miles Program and our new information system put us on par with global industry standards," said Joy Lynn M. Pasiliao, PAL assistant vice president for products.

PAL has also forged a unique partnership with HSBC, giving travelers another opportunity to earn more miles – faster. The Mabuhay Miles Visa from HSBC allows card holders to earn bonus points for all their card purchases: every P45 charged to the card earns one bonus point equivalent to one mile.

Of course, PAL is also allied with Hertz Car Rental agencies and the world’s finest hotels and resorts, including Golden Tulip, Marco Polo, The Peninsula, Barcelo, Boracay Regency, Century Park Hotel, Days Hotel and Fridays Boracay.

In Cebu alone, Mabuhay Milers can earn miles by staying at the serene Maribago Bluewaters Resort, the always-magnificent Shangri-la Mactan and the downtown Waterfront Hotel and Casino.

Flight awards and more choices and flexibility are now within reach in the new frequent flyer program. Mileage redemption requirements (including the minimum age requirement) have been realigned within easier terms.
