BORACAY SUNSET FESTIVAL

Just when you thought summer is over comes a unique festival from the country’s premier tourist destination, Boracay island.

Happening on May 29 to June 4 is a weeklong event aptly dubbed "Boracay Sunset Festival," organized by the resort and hotels in the island. During this week, the hotels and the airlines, Cebu Pacific and Asian Spirit have teamed up to offer unbelievable vacation packages that go as low as P5,300 4 days/ 3 nights stay including roundtrip airfare.

Backed by Philstar.com, Cebu Pacific and Asian Spirit, the weeklong festival features a calendar of activities that will make your short vacation to the island a lifelong experience.

Timed during this week of events is the Cebu Pacific’s Boracay L.I.F.E. activities that include a food festival hosted by Philstar.com , featuring authentic cuisines of seven restaurants from the island, mini-concerts, cocktail parties and a "tourist tiangge" at the plaza. Spearheaded by environmentalist Lara Tajanlangit and Hazel Ancheta of 7107 Boracay L.I.F.E., (Living Islands Fund for the Environment) these events aim to raise funds to provide eco-sheds for the poor barangays in the island consistent with 7107’s mission of inculcating the values of eco-tourism and environment protection. L.I.F.E. has been actively conducting seminars and trainings to the locals about eco-tourism.

Also featured in the Boracay Sunset Festival is a sports fiesta dubbed "San Mig Light Outdoor Challenge," organized by e-works of Gia Veloso. Kicking off with a duathlon, the sports fest also includes an island marathon, mountain biking, adventure race, beacj soccer and other sporting activities.

Boracay Sunset Festival event manager, Allen Mojica has also organized several leisure activities open to all who will avail of the festival package. These events are the scuba diving expedition, golf competition, sunset photo contest, sandsculpting, and other fun water sports competition like the first ever "banana boat competition."

Capping these activities are beach clean up parties and a scubasurero activity.

The participating hotels include Friday’s, Waling-Waling, Boracay Terraces Resort, Le soleil, Jony’s, Willy’s, Red Coconut, Lorenzo’s, Club 10, 357 Boracay, Sand Castle, Boracay Gold Crown, and Pink Patio.
