Dear Tita Witty,
Heto na naman po ako. Di na natuto. I met a workmate from a different department last year. Actually, we haven’t been introduced in person, but he said he saw me at the Halloween party in the office. He followed me on IG, then I had a chance to see him in person during the orientation for newbies. But he didn’t approach me that time. After the orientation, he popped me a message, again on social media, introducing himself. I have this tendency na mambara and since he wasn’t man enough to know me in person, I shut him off. But he took that as a challenge and itinuloy niya pa ang pagme-message sa akin.
We had on and off communication lines, but just this year, we had a long time chatting with each other. Mga two months din but still on social media. He still did not approach me in person kahit na one floor lang naman ang pagitan namin sa work. I don’t know if he’s serious about it like the way he says he is. He even jokes about marriage and stuff. One time niyaya niya akong mag-date pero sa beach. I was skeptical kasi on a first date bakit sa beach? So I said no.
Then we had this exchange of emails once. I told him that I was very busy and there was no time to waste (what I meant was, "Please if you are just wasting my time, stop it"). I wanted to see how he would react. Then he said that since he was not ready yet to have a girlfriend, we might as well continue what we have in 2017 (in a joking manner). I shut him off completely this time. I did not reply to his emails. Though he posted cryptic, sympathy-baiting messages and songs on social media, I tried not to care.
The dilemma is I may have seriously liked him already and it is very hard to forget him especially since we are in the same company. I keep on thinking kung ako ba ang may kasalanan. Or should I have given it one last shot? I don’t know what to do now. SOS.
Nagmamahal (na nga ba?),
Sarah Thomas
Dear Sarah,
Yes, you should’ve continued with that virtual relationship. That way, you would have virtual dinner dates and you could eat all the virtual food you want and not get fat. You would have virtual fights and virtual making up (and out). You would have a virtual marriage in a virtual house and virtual kids with virtual tantrums and virtual needs, and most importantly, virtual tuition! SIMS lang ang peg. Wouldn’t that be great?
Girl, if he really likes you, he would’ve taken you out on a real date by now. You should’ve been really turned off when he asked you to go to the beach with him for a first date. Unless sa resort naman pala kayo nagtatrabaho then a beach date is not bad at all. Mukha ring joke ang maraming bagay sa kanya, like marriage and kids and how he thinks you should be treated. What else does he find funny? The martial law thingy?
Libangan ka lang niya. He doesn’t want to make the effort of really getting to know you. As for the cryptic posts, do you really think it’s about you? Baka naman tungkol kay Lara Croft o Minnie Mouse ‘yun, ‘wag mag-assume. Let go, move on and meet real people. I hear they’re on MySpace and Friendster.
xoxo,
Tita Witty
