In a world where everybody aims to be superhuman, it takes something else to be a Top Model. I dare capitalize the term because the affiliation is more than just a description, and just like personalities and celebrities these days, the mindset is more than just human — it’s all about the brand.
The brand, in this day and age of social media, centers on self. Self and others, but still starts with self. Who makes it? The most unique, interesting, colorful and most entertaining versions of ourselves. Call it a popularity contest, but in a way, life can be one big Idol showdown. Sometimes you win, other times you move on to other things.
Winning a reality show contest is one thing, winning more battles after the televised version is another. Allison Harvard and Dominique Reighard have conquered different seasons of America’s Next Top Model. They were recently seen in Top Model All Stars, where they donned Dubai-based Filipino designer Michael Cinco’s creations. They dazzled local audiences when they graced the catwalk for Michael Cinco’s Philippine Fashion Week show with Bench last Sunday. Later on that night, they were right smack center of the front row for Rajo Laurel’s UNO DOS launch, sandwiching fashion retail king Ben Chan. yes, this is Top Model, Philippine Invasion.
I’ve been lucky to have hung out with the two Top Models. On the eve of Dominique’s birthday, we planned a little impromptu night out — cake, sparklers and champagne, and the mini Philippine launch of Dominique’s “On Top of the World” CD. Wherever they went, heads turned, people snapped photos of Allison and Dominique. The pros that they are, they gamely obliged, nary a hint of complaint, even when people were becoming obtrusive, they smiled at phone cameras, kibitzers and junior paparazzi.
After the catwalk calls, mall tours and photo sessions, Allison and Dominique took the time to explore our islands. Boracay became the backdrop for these two Top Models. Dominique has already left but Allison, who tweeted, “Pls adopt me here!” chose to stay for the weekend with Michael Cinco. With the amount of enjoyment they experienced here, I don’t doubt that both will be back.
Here is our last hurrah for the summer, with Top Models Allison and Dominique donning nothing but Bench body, and yes, they both agree that “It’s more fun in the Philippines!”

Your thoughts on Filipino fashion? Filipino fashion is very innovative, creative and eclectic in its clothing design style and type.
Your impressions on the Filipino model? Exotic, elegant, poised, and strutting the walkway with grace
Your thoughts/ impressions on the Philippines and Filipinos? My first impression of the Philippines is that it is very warm, mesmerizing and inviting. It has a lot of beauty in its natural resources. Filipinos walk around with a smile on their faces and are very hospitable. There is a cultural sense of kindness amongst all people.
Did you expect the kind of reaction from your visit? Yes and no...I knew I had a large fan base here, but definitely not to that magnitude! There is nothing like seeing people of all ages provide you with love and support in person as a firsthand experience. It was absolutely incredible and an experience I will hold and cherish for the rest of my life!
Favorite Filipino dish? Chicken and pork adobo with rice.
Unforgettable moments during this trip? Meeting Ben Chan, walking in the beautiful production in a Michael Cinco dress, helmet diving in Boracay, embracing the Filipino culture, experiencing the people, food and travel.
Advice for those who want to be on top? Dream big! Never let go of the dreams you have had as a little child, remain humble, confident and stay the course.
Will you ever come back to the Philippines? Why? Yes, most definitely! Philippines has now become my home away from home. I feel very connected to the people. I feel a part of the culture. I plan on the Philippines being one of my first stops for my mini-Asia tour as a singer
What’s next for you? Hopefully working with Bench to a different magnitude. I would love to come out with my own Dream Big collection and continue to inspire others, touring and promoting my music, endorsements and acting. Continuing to break many barriers internationally as an entertainer!

Your thoughts on Filipino fashion? Filipino fashion feels really bold and natural all at once.
Your impressions on the Filipino model? The models I saw at PFW were so beautiful and kind.
Your thoughts/ impressions on the Philippines and Filipinos? I just had my stay extended because I love it so much. The people and the energy is so positive. I love it here.
Did you expect the kind of reaction from your visit? I did expect such an overwhelming response. I feel so lucky and so grateful. I wish I could say thank you to every person who came out to see Dominique and I and TriNoma and MOA with Bench. I appreciate it so much.
Favorite Filipino dish? I love all of the desserts.
Unforgettable moments during this trip? Bench/Michael Cinco fashion show, dancing with Rajo Laurel and Ben Chan, meeting everyone at TriNoma, Mall of Asia, and everywhere in Manila and Boracay, helmet diving ( I held a starfish and it sat on my helmet), ahhh everything so far has been magical. I’ve loved making friends and exploring new places. Also, shooting impalpable campaign.
Advice for those who want to be on top? Surround yourself with people who support and love you. Anything worthwhile is hard work.
Will you ever come back to the Philippines? Why? Of course if I ever leave, that is!
What’s next for you? I feel so productive. I have lots of exciting things coming up. I am so grateful.
