Paolo Pineda muses about his moments

MANILA, Philippines - Afirst-of-its-kind with a “moving photograph” exhibit, there is something deeply moving about Paolo Pineda’s images. A baby of the “newspaper-made-glossy” boom a few years back, you’ve seen Paolo’s works all over magazines, billboards and art-slash-advertising publications all over the world. He’s one of the most well-loved young scene stalwarts of the local fashion industry and his energy is infectious!

So contagious is his energy behind the lens that even the frames were moving, so to speak. In Samsung TV screens placed above eye level at Members Only Spotlight gallery, Paolo captured the scene’s muses and captioned them “of the moment.” Now, they are so now. Just like Paolo’s works — simple and straight-forward, beautiful but with an edge.

“For the exhibit, I shot each one of my muses with 150 frames to have a `motion picture’ feel combined into one, to make it move,” says Paolo.

Here at our Supreme gallery, we stopped the presses to get a hold of his precious moving things. We also asked the ladies — all belonging to one group but of different mindsets — what, to them, is now? Aside from the heat, of course, which the photographer and the subjects have in abundance.
