Bringing together the worlds of animation and music

MANILA, Philippines - Symphonic Passion Productions believes in the talents of Filipino musicians and artists. Continuing to champion the Philippine music industry, the team is collaborating with local contemporary musicians Jose “Quest” Villanueva and KZ Tandingan, and transforming their songs into orchestral form, giving audiences a fresh and exciting take on these popular tunes.

“Little Lights” is a collaborative concert that combines the colorful worlds of animation and music together on one stage at the Teresa Yuchengco Auditorium, De La Salle University, Manila on Nov. 29 (Saturday), at 7:30 pm.

This year’s theme, “Little Lights,” came about as a group of Filipino artists, led by Rivelle Mallari and film scorer Reginald Espiritu, aspired to unite the intricacies of hand-painted watercolor elements and digital animation to make a film that would be premiered with a live full orchestra.

What resulted is the animated short film Little Lights, which is about a community of fireflies and their journey of being empowered both by their differences and similarities. The story strives to inspire others to find their own light and to not be afraid to share them with others.

The Lasallian Youth Orchestra, the official orchestra of De La Salle University – Manila, takes the stage giving life to the music with their string, wind, and rhythmic instruments. International solo violinist Go Eun Park will also be performing a Violin Concerto, accompanied by the Lasallian Youth Orchestra and conducted by Maestro Reginald Espiritu.
