Thomasians share grace through music

MANILA, Philippines - Choir directors connected with the University of Santo Tomas gather their children’s choirs from underprivileged communities for the “The Heat Never Bothered Me Anyway, Kids’ Choirs in Concert” on June 7, 8 p.m. at the Shrine of Mary, Queen of Peace (Our Lady of EDSA), EDSA corner Ortigas Ave., QC.

The title is taken from the theme of the movie Frozen, which echoes the lives of these kids who sing their way to their dreams and life opportunities in spite of their struggles and economic limitations in life.

Featured performers are the Caleruega Children’s Choir, Hiyas ng Pilipinas Youth Choir, Minstrels of Hope Choir, Quezon City Performing Arts Children’s Choir, and the Smokey Mountain Kaibigan Singers will be accompanied by Tropang Tomasino choir directors, namely Fr. Allen S. de Guzman OP, former assistant regent of UST High School and founder of Dominican Choir Volunteers GenSan and the Caleruega Children’s Choir; Ledda G. Rosenberger of the UST Conservatory of Music; Maria Lulu P. Orlina, conductor and music teacher, UST High School Glee Club; and Nick C. Infante of the UST Conservatory of Music, former Tiples de Santo Domingo.

Admission is free, but voluntary gifts/donations are welcome to help defray expenses in producing the concert as well as to provide financial help to the kids.
