MANILA, Philippines - PHILIPPINE STAR: How did you meet? Was it love at first sight?
MICHELLE SEE: We were both in Opus then. Kevin was at his friend’s birthday party and I was supposed to meet with my friends. A common friend introduced us to each other. I found Kevin really courteous and he never left me and kept me company until my friends came. We were able to connect with each other pretty well immediately.
KEVIN TAN: Yes, we met in Opus. It was a birthday of a friend and I was there by myself. She waiting for her friends because she came a bit early. We hit it off right away. For me it was love at first sight, but I don’t know about her.
What did you find attractive in each other?
Kevin: Michelle is very beautiful. I found her very articulate and smart. She’s very outspoken and never afraid to speak her mind. That is why I fell in love with her right away.
Michelle: Kevin talks very well. I found him very charming, and a true gentleman, he showed that to me the whole night. He was not trying to be suave nor was he abrasive. He wasn’t flirting or anything as what you would expect in that kind of place. I was really attracted to his sense of humour; he makes me laugh all the time. That’s what I like most about him; he’s very amiable and intelligent.
What was the defining moment when felt you wanted to marry?
Kevin: We were about a year and a half into our relationship and I just felt that I found my perfect match. I could see that all our similarities and differences complement each other. That’s when I knew that it was really her and that it was time to propose. When you know, you know; and at that moment, I just knew.
Michelle: That’s what our friends and families also say, that we are really different but we complement each other really well. He has good principles in life and he puts his family first before anything else, which I really like.
What is your idea of a good marriage?
Kevin: I just want a happy family and do a good work balance. Continuing my dad’s legacy is very important to me. I want many children, but Mich just wants three or four.
Michelle: Taking care of Kevin and making sure that we help each other and grow together, emotionally and spiritually. The Tans are very humble, and I hope our kids grow up with the same work ethic and humility that Kevin and his siblings were brought up with.
What is the most romantic thing your partner has done for you?
Michelle: When I was really sick one time. He went all the way to my office, picked me up and brought me home. I didn’t want to go home yet during that time, but he was really insistent and he really wanted to take me home and get some rest. I found that really sweet and very
romantic of him.
Did you cry or feel senti during your wedding?
Kevin: I didn’t cry
Michelle: I did cry.
Kevin: (Jokes) She cried for joy!
What will make this happily ever after ?
Kevin: We both change for the better, because change is inevitable and it is the only constant thing in this world. People will come and go, things and situations will change. Probably if we can both change for the better and not forget our values and principles, this will be a happily ever after.
Michelle: That involves positive growth and it becomes nurturing, and we really have to help each other and support each other as a team. Family is very important to me and I will really put that ahead
of everything. Kevin and I usually end the day talking about his new inspirations or things we learned that day.
