Cooking classes, training courses for household help

MANILA, Philippines - Cooking classes for household help are currently offered by 25 Mushrooms Kitchen located at 25 Mushroom St., Valle Verde 5, Pasig.

Thursday classes  from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in basic cooking with training courses are as follows:

May 20 — Japanese — California maki, kani salad, pork tonkatsu, chicken teriyaki, prawn  tempura, kaki-kage, beef sukiyaki Japanese fried rice. Plus lessons on weekly menu palnning and kitchen hygiene with fire safety.

    May 27 — Filipino — chicken barbeque with Java rice, beef kare-kare with homemade bagoong, rellenong bangus with green peas and tomato sauce, crispy lechon kawali, authentic Bicol laing, ginataang halo-halo. Plus table service, basic waitering with napkin folding and party buffet setup.

June 3 — Thai — pomelo salad, tom yum soup, bagoong rice, steamed fish with coriander, chili and garlic, phad Thai, green chicken curry, sticky rice with mangoes. Plus recycling basics.

Advanced cooking classes are as follows:

May 18 — American — New England clam chowder, fall-off-the-bone BBQ baby back ribs with roasted garlic mashed potatoes, beer battered fish and chips, quarter pounder beef burger with parmesan fries and crispy onion rings, country-style friedn chicken with gravy, baked mushroom and cheese.

May 25 — Korean — bibimbap, beef bulgogi, pork bulgogi, chap chae, kalbi jim (beef stew) and pajeon (seafood pancake)

June 1 — Thai — crispy catfish salad with green mangoes,shrimp cake with sweet chili dip, stir-fry chicken with crispy basil, grilled pork belly with crispy lemon grass, clams with chili and garlic sauce, curry noodles with prawns and vegetable, Thai dessert.

June 2 — Vietnamese — pomelo and crab salad, fresh spring rolls with spicy peanut dip, kung pao chicken, breaded tofu with mushroom sauce, Mekong River fish with yellow bean sauce, grilled pork with fried rice, spring rolls with sweet nuoc cham dip.

June 8 — Chinese — shrimp and pork siomai, chicken and sweet corn soup, Peking noodles with meat and vegetables, sweet and sour pork, stir-fry shrimp with green peas, yang chow fried rice, buchi.
