Time for brights and metallics

MANILA, Philippines - Shopping and lifestyle destination Shangri-la Plaza recently held a fashion show that signaled a brighter side to the holiday season. The colorful fashion event, directed by Jackie Aquino and styled by Luis Espiritu, presented holiday collections by popular clothing brands in the country.

Participating brands were international and local favorites A/X (Armani Exchange), Anne Klein, Anna Pashmina, Anthem, Ben Sherman, Bergamo, Bossini, Celine, CMG, Crossings Department Store, Daniel Hecther, Escada Sport, Esprit, Florsheim, Guess? Liz Claiborne, Luca, Maldita, Mango, Marlboro Classics, Naf Naf, Naturalizer, Officine, Original Penguin, Rustan’s Department Store, Topshop, The Row, Timberland, Traffic, Van Heusen, Warehouse and Zara.

“Holiday Razzle Dazzle at the Shang,” featured partywear and the season’s hottest trends — brights, reds, and metallics — signaling a shift from the dark, glam rock look to ensembles that celebrate life. Outfits carried a hopeful and positive vibe that depict the beauty and anticipation of celebrating Christmas in style, with pieces that feature different silhouettes to flatter every figure. Fabulous accessories were thrown into the mix to complete looks that were both festive and fashionable.

The show cast fashion in a positive light, encouraging people to re-think the part it plays in their own lives. “At the end of the day, fashion only serves its purpose when a wearer has the optimism and fearlessness to allow it to bring out the best in him or her,” was the mantra. The Shang’s holiday fashion show showed Filipino fashionphiles that fashion is a grand celebration of who they are .
