MANILA, Philippines – World-renowned designer of celebrations Jerry Sibal combines sheer artistry with passion. A leading and prominent event designer and floral artist, founder of New York City-based Design Fusion, he has been creating magical settings for organizations, families and individuals to stage weddings, corporate announcements, benefactors’ balls and other important activities for over 15 years already.
On Sept. 15 Jerry Sibal comes home to the Philippines to inspire and share his experience and expertise to his fellow kababayans as he launches his coffee table book, An Event to Remember: Designing Spectacular Special Occasions. The affair will showcase the artistry and talent of Jerry Sibal as he transforms the ballroom of Makati Shangri-La Hotel.
Jerry Sibal in partnership with Ayala Malls will bring his floral installations to the public starting with a design demonstration on Sept. 16, 6 p.m. with a two-hour show that will introduce the events king himself and his skills and creativity. Then the designs will be showcased from Sept.17 to 18 at the Greenbelt 3 Park.
Sibal earned his degree in architecture in 1980 before embarking on a career that has seen him teaching Chinese painting and Chinese and Philippine folk dance in the Philippines, traveling overseas as a government-appointed Goodwill Ambassador, and moving to New York to work for renowned floral designer Preston Baily before opening his own firm, Design Fusion, with business partner Edwin Josue.
There is no event—grand or intimate—that Jerry can’t elevate to the level of artistry. His flair for coordinating architecture, lighting and audiovisual systems, interior décor, tabletop arrangements, and his trademark floral extravaganzas create such gloriously spellbinding environments.
Jerry Sibal brings unparalleled skill and vision to any event in venues from all over and outside the country such as New York City’s Metropolitan Museum, Miami Beach’s Setai Hotel, Atlantic City’s Borgata Casino, Brooklyn Botanic Garden and Doria Phampelij Museum in Rome. He has also impressed clients such as Virgin Atlantic, Citigroup, Smith Barney, The New York Bank of Mellon, New York Yankees, Marriott Marquis Hotel and countless individuals and celebrities.
Jerry Sibal takes pride with the maximum exposure he has tapped in the international market through Design Fusion. With this he’s more than happy to impart his skills to his fellow Filipinos through the exhibit that will be installed at the premier lifestyle destination, Ayala Malls.
