Mandaluyong City Mayor Benhur Abalos, SM founder and chairman Henry Sy, Sr. and Felicidad Sy led the ribbon-cutting ceremony. SM Supermarket president Herbert T. Sy, SM Investments vice chairman Tessie Sy-Coson, SM Hypermarket EVP Robert Kwee, Monsingor Bong Lo, and Fr. Jesus Prol also joined them.
Top executives from some of the country’s well-loved brands also graced the occasion: Unilever Food Solutions managing director, Zafer Unver and Unilever chairman, Fernando Fernandez, owner of Diamantina Beef, Greg Davis. The 14,415-square-meter SM Hypermarket is the chain’s 14th branch and the its first stand-alone store. With its modern interiors, color-coded sections, and ample parking; it will give customers the ultimate shopping experience.
