When shopping for clothes, consumers always look to pop culture for the latest in styles. Why not get the same treatment when shopping for a home?
Young folks looking to live the high life in a high rise won’t have to look far in order to accomplish the almost-impossible: Find a home that’s stylish, reasonably-priced and ultimately accessible.
At Marfori Residences, the Brittany property fronting Laguna de Bay and situated by the Sucat South Expressway exit (making it accessible to business districts in Makati and Alabang), the dream home is definitely within reach. With shops and restaurants close by — Lakefront City Central boasts family restaurants, bars and fast food joints — getting the necessities is hardly a problem.
Developed by Brittany Corporation, the 18-story tower was created to emulate a boutique hotel.
Creative Post Inc.’s Pinky Cruz-Peralta, was able to execute the vision of Brittany through Marfori’s interiors, the living areas were designed to make tenants feel like they are living in a posh hotel.
Upon entering, residents are greeted by a grand foyer, flanked by seating areas upholstered in neutrals and accented by zebra prints. The high-ceilinged lobby is dominated by a tiled wall, luxuriously patterned after an Eastern palace, with an impressive chandelier drawing the eye up. “For the main lobby, I was aiming for the grand feeling of arrival. The high volume ceiling played an interesting role in bringing out that grandness,” says Pinky Cruz-Peralta.
Inspired by the city of San Francisco, the high rise sports a distinct neo-Victorian aesthetic. “I imagined going to a lobby of a chic hotel and not wanting to leave it,” says Cruz-Peralta of how she conceptualized the space. “This compelled me to source out the most sensuous materials available to create a New Modern look. My inspiration came when I saw a chandelier from Far East made out of flocked velvet and glass crystals. I just knew I could pull off the European classiness without the staleness of a bygone era.”
Indeed, hip elements abound in this youthful space. Bisaza glass tiles done in a snowflake design decorate the wall fronting the receptionist’s desk. “The other must-haves to complete the look are all-black lasercut mats in a signature lace pattern, the faux zebra hide I used to cover the lounge sofa, and the black and silver etched fretworks,” notes Cruz-Peralta.
With its 180-degree view of Laguna de Bay and the Sierra Madre mountain ranges, Marfori Residences boasts luxurious views and amenities.
Swim to your hearts content from the third floor covered pool with views of the surrounding gardens. And worry not about SPF because the covered pool keeps the area cool and sun-free. (Unless tanning is your plan, then day beds are located at the side for some sun.)
An in-house spa with a Zen motif, decorated with sanded teak and dried blossoms, is available to every resident who needs to de-stress after a busy hour at the compact yet fully-equipped gym next door. Social halls — a posh word for bar — makes up the other half of the third floor. Here, homeowners can mingle and relax next to highly-stylized sets. “For the bar lounge and social halls, I was rooting for the relaxed metro atmosphere,” notes Cruz-Peralta, “where the owners feel these public spaces become extensions of their personal living areas.”
Function rooms, which provide a venue for parties, are available for residents who need a larger space to celebrate. With a separate staircase leading from the front of the building directly to the room, guests can enjoy privacy and direct their raucous celebration directly to the function room.
“I will be happy if I get to provide a high level of comfort for the condo owners by providing special pockets of spaces where they become more alive,” says Cruz-Peralta. “It has to give them a great degree of satisfaction.”
