What do you look forward to?

It’s nice to reflect on what I have done with my life – reminisce on the beautiful memories while I learn from the mistakes I have made. Yet, in spite of what may have been my shortcomings, I always look forward to the future. That way I remain inspired to keep on going knowing that there is still so much more that life has to offer me. Also, keeping my hopes alive for tomorrow gives me the momentum I need to finish what I still have to do and accomplish even more for the good of my loved ones and our country, too.

ZSA ZSA PADILLA, movie and television celebrity:
I am looking forward to my annual vacation with my three daughters, Karylle, Nicole, and Zia. We only get to go on vacation together during Holy Week. Last year, we were at Amanpulo. This March, we’ll be in Hong Kong.

VINCE PEREZ, Energy Secretary:
On my last day as Energy Secretary, I look forward to catching up on missed sleep, look forward to making up for lost time with my family, and look forward to resuming the rest of my life.

PATRICE RAMOS DIAZ, fashion designer:
All mothers look forward to the summer break. Which also means less worries and less things to attend to, a longer time to sleep, more free time, less expenses, and lots of fun with the kids, like when we hit the beach. This summer, I look forward to spending quality time with my husband and kids in Shanghai.

INO MANALO, Metropolitan Museum director:
I look forward to a time when our decision makers will have more faith in the immense power of the arts and our creative industries like media, animation, fashion, and cultural tourism to enhance our economy.

AMINA ARANAZ, bag designer:
Married life! I just got engaged, and I will be tying the knot next year. I can’t wait!

EMMAROSE POLICARPIO, shopaholic:
I look forward to a world whose collective consciousness is not based on fear but love.

WARNER MANNING, HSBC CEO:
I’m excited about my upcoming fundraiser "Tree-A-Thlon with Warner," where I aim to run and bike a total of 30 kilometers around the La Mesa Eco Park and Watershed. I hope my staff and friends from the business community will support me again by pledging any amount they can spare for every kilometer I finish. All monies go to the Children’s Hour and the reforestation of the La Mesa. I had promised to pay the pledges myself if I fail to finish the course – and that’s why I’m training hard every day. I hope I make it!

MALOU FROSTROM, appointments secretary, Office of the President:
I am looking forward to a positive and peaceful loving Filipino, a progressive country and a unified country.

MALOU FORES, The Blue Kitchen owner:
I look forward to continuing to excite palates through our shop, The Blue Kitchen. We have made it our passion to gather and present artisan recipes that preserve the best of authentic Filipino and international cuisine, while also introducing interesting flavors and creative food innovations that are simply delicious! Food, after all, is one of the great pleasures in life, and good food done well, a blessing to enjoy and share.

RENNA HECHANOVA ANGELES, businesswoman:
I look forward to seeing our country bounce back from economic regression and achieve an optimistic business atmosphere for foreign investors. This way, we create more jobs and we make every Filipino enjoy a decent living. On a more personal note, I look forward to enjoying the things I value most: Good health and more time with my husband and family.
