A high-kicking party

The symbol of Remy Martin is the centaur which is half horse, half man. So what better way to celebrate the year 2002, the Year of the Water Horse, than with a raunchy, high-kicking Remy party?

Held at the ultimate men’s club in Quezon City, the Remy Martin XO Year of the Horse cocktails was a pleasurable experience not just for the taste of buds but for all the senses. What else can one expect with the brand name XtraOrdinary?

In 1872, the centaur was chosen to symbolize the values Remy Martin holds dear: passion, generosity, know-how and a sense of discovery.

One can sense a bit of the centaur’s spirit with each sip of a Remy Martin cognac. Maybe that’s the secret of Remy Martin – you get a mysterious kick with every swig.

The person who knows the secret of Remy very well is not a man but a woman! She is none other than Chian Mei Gan, Remy Martin’s international brand ambassador. This illustrious Malaysian knows her cognac’s heart, body and soul. She impressed all of us that night with her thorough knowledge of why Remy XO remains the best cognac there is. For one, she says, the white grapes used are cultivated in France’s two best growth regions. The grapes are aged longer in small copper pot stills and Limousin oak barrels.

Remy XO has four families of flavors. The floral notes are lily, jasmine and dried flowers. The fruity notes are fig, candied orange, prune and other exotic or dried fruits. Plus, it contains a spicy whiff of cinnamon, ginger and chocolate. All these heady flavors combined with the after-taste of Remy must be the main reason why men love their cognac as much as women cherish their chocolates.

For gentlemen who love their cognac, Maxxium Philippines, exclusive distributor of Remy XO, raffled off the best offerings of Remy Martin: the Centaur Limoge, a commercially unavailable collector’s item , and the L’age D’Or in a crystal decanter and 24-karat gold cap. The latter is a rare blend that truly represents the golden age of fine champagne cognac. Maxxium’s financial controller Eli Tanopo and senior product manager Randy Uson and on premise manager Allan Tolentino gave away the two extraordinary prizes.

Well, the not-so-lucky men still had something to remember that magical night as Remy XO and VSOP spirits flowed freely from bottle to glass. They also received cute miniatures of Remy XO bottles as souvenirs.

As that special night proved, Remy XO satisfies in a way that no other cognac can match.
