True to form, Meldy arranged a cozy and absolutely pleasant party for Mercy and Sr. Teresa. The affair was attended by close friends led by Pitoy Moreno who showered the celebrators with well-wishes and shared his thoughts about their continued dedication to their various works.
To Mercy and Sr. Teresa, my greetings on your birthdays. And to Meldy, as usual, you pulled off another gracious hosting coup! Bravo to you ladies of substance and style!
Meanwhile, Bobby Carpio, the Century Park Hotel’s dapper, hardworking and super efficient general manager, once again proved why Century Park Hotel remains the Bay Area’s premier hotel during the recent birthday celebration of Fumio Ohkohara, president of Nippon Building Enterprises, Co. Ltd.
Ohkohara, one of the most successful industrialists of Japan, a pleasant gentleman often dubbed the "Harrison Ford" of Tokyo, for his rugged looks and charisma.
The industrialist celebrated his 56th birthday at the Century’s plush Badjao room with a sumptuous fare prepared by executive chef Rudy Velasco. Entertainment was provided by leading bands and celebrities.
Among the guests who honored the well-regarded Ohkohara were John Gobenghuy, president/CEO of Isetann Department Store; Victor Te, president/CEO of Hanford Garments; William Lu, owner/CEO of Basic Clothing International Manufacturing, Co.; Choi Yeong Ki, president of Century Phils. Cooling System; and a number of Chinese and Filipino friends and guests.
