Wacoal: Delicate shapewear

Wacoal showed five sets each of its premium and shapewear collections featuring delicate laced motifs and elegant embroideries to enhance the silhouette of a woman’s body.

Wacoal, Japan’s leading manufacturer of women’s intimate apparel and one of the world’s major intimate apparel brands unveiled its premium and shapewear collection during the “Walk the Isle,” an island wedding fair and show held on Aug. 6 at Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila.

Wacoal showed five sets each of its premium and shapewear collections featuring delicate laced motifs and elegant embroideries to enhance the silhouette of a woman’s body.

Wacoal emphasizes that every woman should be aware of her body changes as she ages and her choice of underwear must be made to complement or provide support to these body changes. That is why Wacoal continues to innovate and create products that meet the needs of every woman to make sure that she looks her best at any age. Wacoal recommends that women in their 20s choose perfect fit underwear that emphasizes the shape of their breasts, waists and hips. As they reach their 30s they should choose underwear that provides lift and support such as brassieres with underwire, pads, and side panels with reinforced fabric or bone. Women in their 40s should consider wearing bras with wider straps and side panels. These provide support for only for the breasts, but also for the shoulders and back.

Wacol is available at leading department stores nationwide. Call the Wacoal customer service hotline at 884-1517 or send e-mail to customer.service@wacoal.ph.

Maxine: Maximum style

Coney Reyes —actress, host and TV icon — loves Maxine’s new collection. “They’re classic, well-made, and are of really good quality,” Coney says. It’s not uncommon for the crew and stylists to ask where she gets her clothes — and they’re all amazed when she tells them it’s a local brand.

“Before, it was easy to find my size. Now, ‘large’ is small,” she says. “I’m a classic dresser, so I like button-down, classic shirts in white, plaid, or stripes. I like that I get to find those blouses at Maxine.”

Whether one needs an outfit for the office or a casual dinner with friends and family, you’re sure to find something at Maxine. All clothes in Maxine are made in the Philippines. Shirley is adamant about that; as an entrepreneur, she believes it is her responsibility to provide jobs for her fellow Filipinos.

Coney wholeheartedly agrees, and adds that the sincerity and care is apparent even in the way the brand chooses the clothes’ fabric. The right fabric can make or break a piece of clothing; the wrong choice of fabric can ruin an item no matter how fabulous it looks like in a sketch.

Maxine is available in SM Department stores, Landmark Department Stores and in two free-standing stores in SM North Edsa (SOLITA), and TriNoma.
