For many manufacturers, more care goes into the production of children’s clothes than into adult lines. Fabrics and decorations must be chosen for safety and comfort, as well as appearance.
One label that adheres to such guidelines is Petit Bateau, France’s top textile brand that has been producing children’s underwear for more than 120 years. Recently, this premier French clothing line finally anchored its flagship store in Cebu. There was a grand launch at the Ayala Center Cebu led by Hans Clifford Yao, president of Adrenaline Group of Companies, the official distributor of Petit Bateau in the Philippines.
Clad in iconic millerais blue and white stripes, that have captured the fancy of many moms in the fashion capitals of Europe and neighboring Asian countries such as Japan, Singapore and Hong Kong, the festivities began with the traditional store blessing followed by a mini-fashion show, which featured Petit Bateaus collection worn by trendy Cebuana moms with their adorable kids in tow.
Moms included restaurateur and TV personality Kate Anzani with her daughters Ambra, Zuri and seventh-month-old Alessia Valentina; pharmacist and entrepreneur Christine Uy with daughters Callie and Cassie; designer and couturier Therese “Tet†Ko with her daughter Inara; professional photographer Maitina Borromeo with daughters Mattea and Rocio; and former publicist turned business consultant Laurice Chiongbian with son Rafa. The young and radiant mommies looked effortlessly chic in classic Petit Bateau while their kids strutted comfortably in breezy and fun children’s wear.
Supportive dads chef Marco Anzani, Oliver Ko, Andre Borromeo and Wesley Chiongbian cheered from the sidelines, taking fun photos of their little ones. Proud grandparents were also in attendance. Rosalyn Chiongbian with her bubbly two-year old Rafa; Pablo Ko Jr. with Inara and Mike and Marilen del Gallego beamed proudly as granddaughters Mattea and Rocio took to the runway.
The afternoon continued with delightful and refreshing sailor-themed cocktails as fun-filled kiddie activities like origami-making and arts and crafts kept the children entertained. Petit Bateau will feature a kiddie corner where children can color and draw, play with puzzles and other games while their parents make their selections.
Petit Bateau is known for its allergy-free clothing lines for all ages, from newborns to adults that are guaranteed non-carcinogenic, and non-toxic as certified by the Okeo-Tex label, ensuing risk-free clothing up to 36 months even for the most sensitive skin.
