MANILA, Philippines -“Creation is an uncontrolled muscleâ€, says Arik Levy, artist, photographer, designer, technician, filmmaker and renowned sculptor, whose limited-edition artworks and designs can be seen in prestigious galleries and museums worldwide. Originally from Tel Aviv before departing for Europe and launching a celebrated international career in design, Levy is known for his signature blend of technical skill and aesthetic sensibility.
A multi-disciplinarian, Levy studied industrial design at Art Center College of Design in La Tour de Peilz, Switzerland, gaining distinction in industrial design in 1991. Though noted for his sculptures, furniture and light designs, Levy also designs clothing lines and accessories for firms in the Far East. His love of arts also led him to contribute in another field of art: contemporary dance and opera through set design.
The Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM) will bring Arik Levy to Manila for the launch of the first DeXign Global Philippines, a design-centric and design-forward international home and fashion trade event, to be launched as a co-located show within Manila FAME from Oct. 17 to 20 at the SMX Convention Center, Pasay City, Philippines.
The first of its kind in the country, DeXign Global will feature home and fashion products from all over the world and will serve as a platform for international manufacturers aiming to tap the growing Asian market for home and home furnishings and the booming Philippine retail and contract markets.
