Basic landscaping seminar set

Create your own tray landscape: Participants will get hands-on experience in marcoting, grafting, tray landscaping and waterfall making at the workshop set for Nov. 23 to 25.

MANILA, Philippines - A seminar-workshop on basic landscaping will be conducted by Ikebana Prof. Serapion S. Metilla on Nov. 23 to 25 at the Seminar Hall of Quezon Memorial Circle, QC. To be held every afternoon from 1 to 6 p.m. the three-day course covers the following: identification of materials both hardscape and softscape; knowing some design faults and hazards that may occur in the garden; knowing the plants and other accessories that are appropriate in the landscape with regard to style, design and climate; techniques of plant propagation, care and maintenance; knowing the various styles such as formal, informal, Western, Oriental, mass, minimalist, rock garden and the principles of Zen or meditation gardens; xerophytic and mesophytic outdoor and indoor gardening for healthy living.

Participants will get hands-on experience in marcoting, grafting, tray landscaping and waterfall making. All materials for the hands-on will be provided free such as cement tray, potting medium, assorted plants and accessories, submersible pump, rocks, cement, sand, and the like. Participants can take home their projects. Snacks, handouts and certificate will also be provided.
