Business meets leisure at The City Club

MANILA, Philippines - After a long, stressful meeting, you’re torn between changing into your gym shorts for a quick basketball game down the hall, melting your stress away at the spa downstairs, or heading out to your favorite Japanese restaurant on the same floor for a bowl of delicious ramen. It’s a dilemma worth having.

These are just some of the “hard” choices that you will have to make at Alphaland’s exclusive City Club, part of the soon-to-rise Makati Place development. It is set to be the newest and most dynamic business and leisure hub in Makati’s business district, boasting the most number of facilities in a three-floor, 20,000-square meter hub.

The City Club will give members access to some of Manila’s best fine dining restaurants, watering holes and cafes, as well as high-end conference rooms, sporting facilities, and even recreational areas for kids — for a membership fee that’s a fraction of what another leading leisure club charges.

“Every place worth going to—whether it’s for work, for play, or both — will be right here at The City Club, making it the go-to place for families, yuppies, and executives living or working in the Makati area. You will have a dizzying array of activities and amenities to choose from, all in one place,” says Joanna Duarte, Alphaland Corporation’s VP for sales and marketing.

Makati Place is strategically located along Ayala Avenue Extension, touted to be the area for the central business district’s expansion — what Alphaland likes to call the “New Makati.”

“Because of its prime location, The City Club will be a key destination once it opens its doors — it will be the place where New Makati plays,” remarks Duarte. “Whether they live in Makati or not, members can come here and relax after work or even during their lunch break. It’s the perfect place for waiting for traffic to clear.”

Duarte promises that The City Club will be a true haven for sporting and fitness enthusiasts. Members will be given access to a wide array of lifestyle amenities, including indoor facilities for tennis, badminton, basketball, golf, squash, boxing, and table tennis. A workout gym and studios for yoga, martial arts, Pilates, and dance will also be available for those looking to break a sweat.

For families, there will also be a multitude of children’s facilities and activities, including a video game room, music and dance lessons, a daycare center, and a kiddie pool to keep your tots busy while you work or unwind.

Green is in: The City Club offers refreshing touches of greenery.

When it comes to work-related activities such as meetings and presentations, Duarte explains that The City Club will offer corporate amenities that can rival first-class offices. Members will enjoy conference rooms equipped with Wi-Fi, video conferencing tools, and a state-of-the-art fiber optic network to ensure seamless connectivity.

A private elevator will take guests from the basement to drop-off areas, ensuring privacy and security at all times. Function rooms will likewise cater to other corporate events as well as parties and family get-togethers. “The City Club is your home away from home, and your office away from the office,” Duarte says.

Restaurant and cuisine variety at the City Club will be anything but sparse, with top restaurants such as Terry’s among the club’s tenants. “Whether it’s having lunch with your colleagues or bonding with the family, The City Club will give members a truly unique, convenient, and delectable dining experience, with its ample and luxurious interiors and sumptuous dishes prepared to perfection,” says Duarte.

She adds, “As with all our projects, we hope to set a standard for modern living. The concept is tailored to the demands and needs of the discerning consumer.”
