MANILA, Philippines - Cooks, foodies, culinary enthusiasts, and families gathered as celebrity chef Rosebud Benitez graced a cook fest at True Value in Alabang Town Center recently. Dubbed “Cool Summer Cravings,” the event was presented by True Value in partnership with Breville and showcased tasty and healthy summer dishes.
Chef Rosebud demonstrated the basics of preparing great gourmet meals, easy baking, refreshing juices and techniques in power grilling. Featured dishes were barbecues, beef dishes, sandwiches, juices and other scrumptious summer staples. Breville corporate chef Emman Galvez helped out in cooking and preparing with the aid of Breville cooking gadgets.
The event kicked off with making kebabs using the Breville Professional Power Grill, which can cook up to 50 skewers in just seven minutes and has an adjustable contraption perfect for sandwiches and pizzas.
Also featured were the Breville Automatic Meal Maker that was used to cook the coffee braised beef and the Breville Automatic Bread Maker for the mango muffin loaf. Chef Rosebud also showed how to use the Breville Juice Fountain Plus.
After an impressive bottle-flipping and drink-tossing show by T.G.I.Friday’s Alabang bartender Marvin Tantoja, a pizza-making contest was held. The lucky winners won a Breville Professional Power Grill worth P13, 000 and gift certificates from True Value. Early registrants received freebies and True Value gift certificates. Loot bags from Breville, and five Martha Stewart DVDs (from Magnavision) were also given away in a special raffle. A Breville Automatic Bread Maker and Automatic Meal Maker were the major prizes.
