Design genius Junjun Ablaza has crossed over from weaving fabulous and larger-than-life, themed-events to creating ingenious, experimental art wear pieces that bring glamour to fashion couture. Recently, Junjun and good friend, exceptional fashion designer Michele Sison, teamed up for a breathtaking show entitled “Duality: the Sison-Ablaza Collaboration” during Philippine Fashion Week. Manila’s well-heeled denizens and stylish mavens all trooped to this grand event that also marked Junjun’s exciting debut as accessories designer. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the show that turned out to be a masterpiece of epic proportions.
Junjun’s extraordinary creations made from feathers, coral, reptile skin, equine tail, tortoise shell, and precious metals, perfectly served as the contemporary, couture accessories to Michele’s playfully sophisticated collection with pieces that captivate because they tell a story: the duality one labors to balance daily — a person’s yin and yang.
