MANILA, Philippines – The University of the Philippines (UP) Board of Regents has awarded to Ayala Land the contract of lease for the development of the 7.4-hectare UP Diliman East Campus Property, also known as the UP Integrated School (UP-IS) property along Katipunan Avenue in Quezon City.
The development of the site presents a good opportunity to service the needs of the students, office workers and residents in the immediate vicinity. Ayala Land envisions the project as a University Town concept consisting of mixed-use retail and office components, with firm emphasis on academic support facilities. This P3 billion development will be the first of its kind in the country to reflect a strong collaboration between academe and industry.
UP conducted a public bidding last November 2010 for the relocation and building of a new UP-IS in a more suitable location within the main campus identified by the University, as well as the redevelopment of the existing site along Katipunan Avenue into a mixed-use facility. Ayala Land’s proposal was declared as the most favourable bid.
