The Lerato: Love in any language

MANILA, Philippines - Lerato is an African word that means “love.” Likewise, it is a popular girl’s name that means “song of my soul.” As such, it is the name of beautiful, trailblazing and talented African personalities like internationally recognized Elizabeth Arden model Lerato Moloi and respected South African journalist Lerato Mbele.

In the Philippines, however, Lerato is creating a buzz in the Philippine real estate community as yet another prime project of Alveo. The Ayala Land company has gained the distinction of creating “vibrant communities and groundbre-aking living solutions adapted to the changing needs of the upscale market.” The Lerato is the second project of Alveo in Makati’s central business district, after its initial project in the area called The Columns Ayala Avenue, which was extremely well-received by discerning investors.

“Live where imagination blends seamlessly with life”: architect’s perspective of The Lerato

True to its name, there is much to love about The Lerato. Foremost is its prime location. The development is in a one-hectare site north of Ayala Avenue and an easy walk to the city’s Central Business District. The development is located near learning and healthcare institutions, shopping and dining destinations, places for religious worship, and cultural and entertainment hubs. Apart from being accessible and convenient, the project is also in Makati’s quieter side. This is ideal for those who prefer a more relaxed pace after a busy day at work. For them, coming home to The Lerato will be akin to being in the eye of soothing calm after a whirlwind day of contributing to the area’s progressive growth.

Consisting of three towers that will include residential and commercial units, the project is envisioned to be a residential hub with a unique retail component. The first tower will have 420 studio units with 31 to 32 square meters of floor space, plus 120 one-bedroom units of 44 to 57 square meters each. Select garden residential units will have access to a roof deck. Tower 1, which will be turned over in the fourth quarter of 2015, will also have a workout studio, game room and prayer room.

To enhance the “live, work and play” lifestyle, amenities will include adult and kiddie pools, landscaped open or green areas, Wi-Fi zones, a picnic and barbecue area, lounge, function rooms and a theater. Energetic residents will enjoy the jogging trail and outdoor play area, and a green pocket with sitting area will be much appreciated after the strenuous activity.

The Lerato is envisioned as a home for young, urban professionals — ambitious, talented and hardworking — those who “have the world on their plate,” so to speak. Perhaps to accentuate this, Alveo Land recently held “Taste and Savor Life’s Feasts at The Lerato,” a tasting event that featured delicious dishes from popular nearby restaurants in Greenbelt 5 like Zuni, Felix and Thai Patio.”

“The Lerato’s location makes it both a prime venue for residential living and for offering various dining options as a lifestyle choice, an experience unique to the development,” said Jennylle Tupaz, project development head of Alveo

Aris Gonzales, senior project development manager, talks about The Lerato

This will be a community of dynamic and motivated individuals who will have the energy and focus to live up to the essence of lerato. To love what they do to achieve their best. To keep in their hearts “the song of the soul” to tirelessly work towards fulfilling their dreams.
