A wedding invitation made of banig, a terno for a wedding gown, or a bunch of sampaguita and rosal for a bouquet. Well, there’s something really romantic and nostalgic about the Filipiniana-inspired theme that balikbayan couples are crazy about.
C3 Events Place in Greenhills, San Juan, is one venue that can accommodate such style. Backed by a creative in-house stylist, C3 Events Place captures the essence of the traditional Philippine celebration — be it a wedding, a debut, testimonial dinners, among others.
“We have available materials that cater to our clients’ specific needs. The Filipinia theme is a big hit among balikbayans and OFWs. At C3, we make sure that our clients are satisfied with our service. If it’s Filipiniana they want, we complement the motif with a delectable Filipino spread,” says Badjie Trinidad, C3 general manager.
C3 Events Place recently held “A Grand Cultural Salvo” to launch their three new Filipiniana menu — the Filipino Cocktail, Merienda Cena, and the Filipino Buffet — prepared by executive chef Menoy Gimenez.
Filipino Cocktail consists of rice and pasta dishes with yummy sauces (crab fat and truffle oil with crispy anchovy sauce; Lucban and Vigan longganisa with annatto cream and pepper sauce).
“Puttanesca gets a new taste with green mango, shrimp paste, and pork bagnet,” enthuses Trinidad.
Rice lovers will surely enjoy the savory adobo rice or the dilis-garlic rice served with either red curry and coconut sauce or peanut-bean sprouts.
The humble taho is given a special twist. Enjoy it with braised pork humba; salted duck egg, century egg, chives and soy glaze salad; spiced minced crispy pork ear, soy adobo floss; or fork-tender pares.
For dessert, indulge in mango and almond panna cotta or mango-lengua cheesecake.
The Filipino Buffet features local fare from soup to dessert. Feast on kare-kare, prawns in aligue sauce, or seared tilapia in coconut emulsion. Cap your meal with pastillas panna cotta, leche flan brulee and chilled ginataang halo-halo.
Pan de sal is the star of Merienda Cena. Enjoy it with special spreads such as salted ham and queso de bola, grilled lengua cheese, and embutido. Also try the lumpiang hubad with crispy wanton skin and garlic; goto and arroz caldo congee, as well as tokwa’t baboy.
C3, which stands for “create, celebrate, captivate,” is a multi-functional events place that can accommodate simple to grand occasions. The modern, indoor venue can accommodate as much as 550 guests, and can be transformed according to the client’s specification.
The Missouri Hall, which is the main venue, can sit up to 180 guests. There are two other rooms for intimate gatherings (40 to 50 guests). The foyer’s landing and veranda can also be occupied for larger events.
