A yacht race to an island paradise

Talk about a race to paradise! Sailors of different nationalities braved the seas in the recently concluded Standard Insurance-SMART Infinity Manila to Boracay Race, one of the best races in Asia. From the starting point in the Manila Yacht Club, the yachts sailed near the Batangas coastline, rounding Fuego Point, passing through Verde Passage, Dumali Point, Maestro de Campo, and Tablas Island. Long stretches of very light winds made the journey an arduous one, and not everyone made it to the finish line, but catching sight of the shimmering white sands of Boracay made it all worthwhile for the yachtsmen. Winning the Kellet Island Trophy, overall IRC Racing Class, was the yacht Centennial led by Ernesto Echauz.

At the expansive beachfront of the cozy and lovely SeaWind Resort, everyone was treated to a warm welcome as teams and individuals were recognized for their performance in the race. Amiable Seawind owner Boy Jarantilla, hardworking general manager Joebert Cocjin, his charming wife Susan, head of operations "Mommy" Milay, and the friendly and efficient staff of SeaWind made sure that all of the guests had a good time. SMART top executives such as Infinity product manager Tom Valderrama, postpaid marketing head Jon-Jon San Agustin, and corporate business group head Julie Carceller and the rest of the SMART Infinity team were seen dancing the night away under the beautiful Boracay night sky.

Smart Infinity truly understands life’s best!
