Tumi ushered in the infinite possibilities that the year brings as it launched its spring 2014 collection. In keeping with the spirit of laidback glamour, the event was held at the towering lounge that is 71 Gramercy, the city’s highest peak, which proved to be a highly befitting venue for the Miami-inspired theme.
The event kicked off with a live graffiti performance as supplemented by the spirited beats and rhythm of DJ Ace Ramos and Mars Miranda. Guests reveled in the moment over Miami-inspired amuse-bouche and refreshing concoctions provided by Ketel One, Tumi’s official drink sponsor, as prepared by esteemed bartender Enzo Lim.
In line with Tumi’s core values of design excellence and elevated sense of style, the collections consist of a dynamic assortment of travel bags and luggage that combine modernism with timeless and traditional sensibilities — all the while centering on the exotic and urbanistic Miami scene.
Highlighting the launch of Tumi’s spring 2014 line was the Alpha 2 collection, which Tumi considers to be the next evolution of the brand’s heritage travel line. Also a noteworthy element is the brand’s notable collaboration with American designer, potter, and author Jonathan Adler, which gave birth to a quirky and unique line meant to attract the discerning yet free-thinking jetsetter. Tumi also rolled out its new addition, the Santa Monica collection.
As an advocate of excellence, Tumi wishes its bearers to constantly be at the top of his/her game whether that be in sports, business, politics, or the arts. Tumi focused on infusing aspects of technology, innovation, sophistication, and intellect in creating this new line. The outcome is a vibrant assortment of travel bags and luggage, small leather goods, and tech accessories that were born out of the irresistible tropical charm of the Miami scene.
