Upgraded PLDT Telpad provides richer multimedia experience

MANILA, Philippines – PLDT, with the launch of its new Telpad, is hoping that more than the software upgrades, its partnership with multimedia content providers will help it redefine the Filipino household’s landline and tablet experience.

Running on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean OS and a high-speed dual core processor, the new Telpad comes with apps that promise an enhanced experience on three fronts namely communication, entertainment, and social media.

Smart Music, which was launched recently, allows subscribers to access and download from the more than 3 million tracks in MCA Music’s global catalog. Tracks can be purchased directly from the app starting at P15 while new releases are at P20.

Clickplay meanwhile, is a movies-on-demand app that currently maintains a selection from Warner Studios, a feature that comes in handy with the Telpad’s capability to connect to HDTV. A number of movies come for free per month depending subscription plan.

Finally, subscribers get two free premium games including Need for Speed Hot Pursuit, Mass Effect Infiltrator, and Bejeweled 2—all from EA Games—that can be downloaded until July 15 next year.
