MANILA, Philippines - Remember when it was cool to go M.I.B. or “Men in Black”? This summer, it’s time for the M.I.P.s, or Men in Pastel, to take center stage at SM.
The world’s premiere designers, after all, are hyped up on pastels in their latest collections. Karl Lagerfeld featured classic looks with everything from a polished pastel pink blazer to a smart slate suit. Calvin Klein and Yohji Yamamote made a nod to the pastel trend with blue pleated pants. Kenzo featured pink flowers on shorts and tops.
The Milan fashion week’s spring/summer collection highlighted an array of knits, trousers and flat caps all in floral and pastel; while menswear trends in the London fashion week showed an array of Edwardian-style suits in plum and pastel.
Pastel colors are always a perfect pick for the hot summer season. These casual colors are harmonized with nude shades like camel, gray, beige and tan. And the lighter colors of these fabrics absorb less heat, so there is very good reason to invest in pastel colors and neutral shades.
SM Men’s Fashions cools you this summer with its line of pastel knitted tops from Main Street and Coco Republic in seafoam green, light blue, ivory, and even baby pink! Harmonized with nude shades like camel, gray, beige and tan, these celebrate the modern preppy look.
Shot in style at the Microtel Hotel at the Mall of Asia complex in Pasay City, the collection is available at the Men’s Department in all SM Stores.
