(As released) Over 200 delegates attended the "Food and Tech Movement," which is a series of conferences geared towards empowering restaurant owners. The introductory event was held at SM Aura’s Samsung Hall.

The movement essentially equips restaurateurs with more knowledge about how the industry is doing in the country, and what steps may be taken to further its improvements.

During the event, Zomato presented the theme of the year, "Food and Tech Movement," and highlighted its goals, mission and vision.

The event was graced with the presence of industry leaders from the Department of Tourism, DTI-CITEM, Globe myBusiness, Ogilvy Manila, JWT Manila and Zomato.

The delegates in attendance learned more about the Philippines’ booming restaurant industry especially in terms of going digital. All the more, they realized that the fusion of knowledge in the food and tech industries can create the greatest innovation for their businesses. The entire learning experience covered three main topics:

  • Food Movement – Insights on the Philippines’ food industry and government initiatives to boost the local F&B scene
  • Tech Movement – Understanding the role of technology in the restaurant business
  • Digital marketing trends in the Philippines’ restaurant industry by the country’s leading ad agencies and entrepreneurships

Following the success of the first-ever business event this year, Zomato Philippines, Globe myBusiness and Nestle Professional are geared up for the next mouth-watering, business-evolving event in June. Keep checking out Zomato Philippines’ app, website and Instagram page for upcoming updates!
