MANILA, Philippines - So, how was your sundae, I mean Sunday? That was a delicious slip of the tongue because my happy memories of childhood are made up of Sundays sweet Sundays spent dashing off to an ice cream parlor and treating myself to an indulgent glass of sundae. Simply dazzled by the razzled sundae, I scoop a spoonful and as soon as it touches my tongue, a variety of flavors explodes inside my mouth — like fireworks lighting up the night sky. I can taste the light-and-just-right and fluffy vanilla softserve blending with the smooth, good old-fashioned choco malt (my heart just melts over malt, a tried-and-tested favorite we grew up with), which comes from the MILO powder that’s meticulously stirred into the mixture, rendering the powder delightfully invisible. Then my tongue hits something round and crunchy that reminds me of my favorite breakfast cereals. Why, they’re MILO cereal balls!
