MANILA, Philippines - Hotel H2O, the first aquarium-themed urban resort in the Philippines, recently opened its doors to 25 beauties who vied for the prestigious Miss World Philippines crown, including eventual winner Gwendolyn Ruais (third from left). The girls were guests for two nights, during which they sampled the hotel’s varied attractions, including a visit to Manila Ocean Park, sumptuous meals at Makan-Makan Asian Food Village, and a soothing rub-down at Zenyu Eco Spa. Posing with the candidates at the hotel lobby are Tess Samson, Hotel H2O assistant executive housekeeper; Antonette Mitschiener, director of sales and marketing; Cory Quirino, chair and CEO of CQ Global Quest; Lily S. Adrid, Hotel H2O general manager; and Jane Ferrer, front office manager. A member of Worldhotels, Hotel H2O is perhaps the most visually distinctive property in the country. It comprises two floors connected by a long aquarium wall. Its 128 rooms and 19 suites are furnished with Turkish sandalwood marble, natural fabrics, artworks, and all the upscale amenities of a first-class resort.
