MANILA, Philippines - Blackbeard’s Seafood Island Restaurant was named after the famous pirate Blackbeard, when he decided to settle in the Philippines to end his pirating days.
It is said that Blackbeard brought with him different culinary concepts and techniques. As a seasoned pirate, he was able to travel to different places, adopted the cooking style (which he learned from the other islands) and modified it with local ingredients making him a good chef.
This explains why the island-themed seafood grill and barbeque house designed by architect Calina Prieto features tropical plants and white sand. To complement the motif of, the staff are dressed as pirates.
Blackbeard Restaurant is owned by Bankside Management Group. The same group that manages The Red Crab Seafood & Steaks, The Seafood Club by Red Crab and Crustasia Asian Crab & Seafood House.
