Making the right connections

It was an evening of exclusivity and casual fellowship when Nokia, the world’s leading  mobile phone supplier and foremost provider of mobile and fixed telecom networks and Globe Platinum tied up and hosted a dressed-down party filled with premium connections.

The much-anticipated event was attended by Cebu’s business and financial giants together with the beautiful social set.

Guests witnessed a glorious moment in the telecommunication industry with the introduction of the all new, latest Nokia devices the E71 and  E66.

Nokia’s executives such as corporate communications manager Nikka Abes, and marketing manager Mitch So together with Globe’s  corporate external affairs head for the Visayas and Mindanao Jerome Yntig, business head for the Visayas Vincent Ong, account manager Jill Lotho, segment marketing head Cathy Santamaria, customer engagement head Manny Aligada, and Menchie Osial, Globe corporate communications head, led the party pack.

Held at Mizu, the newly renovated Japanese restaurant of the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel, guests relished the finest of Japanese gourmet cuisine such as scallops, Kobe beef, codfish, a selection of sushis and sashimis exclusively prepared by chef Ken Imamura.

In attendance was Honorary Consul of Sweden Cheling Sala and his wife Susan with their children bachelors Javi and Mikel and head turner daughter Karina, art patrons Francis and Joy Onglatco, civic leader Melanie Ng, twosome Martin and Angelique Miranda, banker and service provider Pico Sarmiento and his driven realtor wife Shella, maker of exquisite furnitures Nora Lamata, bubbly Monina Blanco and many others.

The much awaited part and surely the highlight of the affair was the raffle of a Nokia E71 and Nokia E66. Both devices come fully equipped with easy-to-install and even much easier to use professional and personal e-mail. With these E series, proud users can get reliable real-time access to their e-mail, calendar, contacts and tasks as well as download attachments like Word, Excel, Powerpoint or PDF files directly to their devices.

And that’s not all. In addition to e-mail and personal information management, the Nokia E71 and Nokia E66 support the latest Ovi services that include maps, music and media sharing that power users expect from their device. This includes fast and seamless browsing and 3G connectivity, maps for navigation, a music player with support for up to eight GP expandable memory and a 3.2 megapixel auto focus camera to catch and capture that  all important unforgettable moment.

The very successful party definitely took a lot of preparation and only the best food and wine, and a merry mix of guests would do for the discriminating hosts.
