Love knows no boundaries

The beige invitation with a lavender ribbon beautifully tied into a bow set the tone for the wedding of Rius Agua and Lara Naomi Verdan at the chapel of the Archibishop’s Palace of Cebu.

The couple met while undergoing a two-month language course in Manila. Before going their separate ways, they promised to keep in touch.  After burning the wires for almost a year, Rius and Naomi realized a long-distance love affair  was not what they wanted.

They soon began preparations for a truly intimate wedding in all its simplicity and elegance which both sets of parents, Marius Agua and Antonia Cui and Angelo Verdan and Ma. Lelani Echaves-Paredes, gladly agreed to.

The principal sponsors were Benjamin and Lilibeth Agua, Patrick and Ma. Viveva King and Glenn and Honey Loop.

Rius’s childhood friend Erwin Bersoto was his best man while Naomi’s sister Laarni Mae was maid of honor.  Patricia Viveva King Tortosa was matron of honor.

Unlike most weddings the bearers of the rings and coins were childhood friends of the couple, grown-up gentlemen Carlo Franco Subejano and Jesson Lim respectively.

Popular florist Scented Petals decorated the chapel with white Malaysian mums and purple dendrubiums highlighted by white calla lilies.

A classic sunset reception immediately followed  at the beautifully landscaped garden of Chateau de Busay. The restaurant reknowned for its excellent cuisine prepared a sumptuous buffet.

Upcoming baker Joan Danao baked a unique, single, mocha and orange chiffon  wedding cake surrounded by dozens upon dozens of mini cupcakes which were  distributed to all the guests.

After dinner, everyone enjoyed the touching speeches especially by Naomi’s mom Lelani. The sponsors likewise  shared their tried and tested formula for a good, well-grounded, lasting marriage.

Equipped with a unique zest for life, we wish Rius and Naomi many years of blessedness.
