Avon Philippines wanted the first ever Southeast Asia cluster press event to be more than just a series of seminars and lectures. And what better way than to host the top lifestyle and beauty editors and writers from Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines to an exclusive getaway at the Shangri-La Mactan Island Resort and Spa in Cebu.
The three-day fellowship started with cocktails after which guests were encouraged to go through the Facial Scan System that analyzes and provides personalized report on the condition of one’s skin. It measures pigmentation, pores, wrinkles, evenness, skin disorders, UV spots, and sun damage.
Moving on to the Rosal Room, Bob Briddon, Avon Philippines general manager, warmly welcomed the 300 participants who were more than enthusiastic about learning the newest skincare breakthrough that was set to be launched. He was joined by Dr. Laurence Dryer, an accomplished scientist and manager of the Department of New Technologies; Mansoor Wan Abdullah, general manager for the Malaysia cluster; Sarah Mcintosh, commercial marketing director of the Avon Southeast Asia cluster; and Kelly Melia Harte, country manager for Avon Thailand.
The Avon team made it its business to pamper each guest from start to finish. Delightful giveaways and treats were given at different intervals of the two-day event. One of the pampering highlights was a spa facial treatment at the property’s Chi Spa, capped by the application of an Anew moisturizer.
Visiting guests from neighboring countries were also treated to a fun-filled city tour where they had the opportunity to visit the islands’ popular tourist spots as well as indulge in every woman’s delight  shopping for local delicacies, exquisite fashion jewelries and very affordable clothing.
The actual product launch took place at the Ocean Pavilion amid a fabulous sunset. Celebrated Malaysian singer and Anew spokesperson Syafinaz Selamat, Thai supermodel and actress Metinee Kingpayome and our very own Miss International 2005 Precious Lara Quigaman were the program hosts.
And finally after much anticipation, Avon’s newest skincare breakthrough; the most advanced and powerful facial lifting product was unveiled  the Anew Clinical ThermaFirm Face Lifting Cream.
Roundtable interviews followed the launch, which gave the foreign and local press groups the chance to further discuss the benefits of the latest face-lifting cream with Avon’s skincare specialists Dr. Dryer, Sarah Mcintosh and Kelly Melia Harte.
Born out of state-of-the-art technology, painstaking research, and commitment to quality, the cream is formulated to stimulate the production of dermal fibers to help tighten the connections between the skin’s layers. And more importantly, the cream, which uses radio waves to stimulate collagen production, does away with scalpels, pain and appointments, and is a cost-effective at-home answer to professional thermal facelifts.
The power behind Anew Clinical ThermaFirm Facial Lifting Cream is an exclusive technology called triple-sonic technology, which goes to work immediately, fortifying damaged tissue with new collagen production that helps provide a lifting, tightening, and firming effect. In addition, it is formulated with fennel, apple root and corn kernel extracts that help stimulate the production of three different structural proteins which diminish with age  collagen, elastin, and fibronectin  resulting in the restoration of firm youthful skin and facial shape.
The Anew Getaway celebration ended on a very high note with an Isla Paraiso-themed beach party at the hotel’s beachfront.
