It was most unusual that Jennifer Lim not only designed her own wedding gown, but also that of the matrimonial entourage composed of the couple’s mothers, bridesmaids, secondary sponsors and the wee flower girls. Add to that feat, she also made the groom’s tuxedo together with that of his male retinue in her Sjælu Atelier. A 2007 graduate of the University of Arts in the London College of Fashion, Jennifer Lim was calm and collected during the whole marital rites as if she had nary a worry except to look like a radiant bride to her businessman husband Ronald Tieng.
This love story started rather simply with a normal get-together and a request on Facebook to be “friends.†Ronald knew that Jennifer was going to be THE one but he had to muster enough courage to ask her out without appearing to be too eager. Four years elapsed and the romance culminated in a beautiful wedding ceremony at the historic San Sebastian where the couple exchangedvows early this month.
One of the happiest persons that night was the groom’s father William Tieng as he announced to one and all that he was looking forward to having lots of grandchildren since Ronald is the first in his family to get married.
The reception at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza also had touches of the bride’s artistry with her decor and flower arrangement designs throughout the ballroom. It was heartwarming to hear the newlyweds’ message to each other. Ronald looked lovingly at his bride and said, “Getting to know you is like getting to know myself but on a better level. Each day is a new adventure with you.†Jennifer’s tender reply was: “Our love in its truest form will always bring out the best in each other. Superheroes are not just madeup stories for kids, they’re real and you are my very own superhero.â€
