Repetto leaps onto the streets with a graceful clothing line

Repetto, the go-to brand for dance and ballet basics, presents its line of ready-to-wear separates inspired by a ballerina’s clothing. The brand will release 16 charming styles, calling to mind the grace of a ballerina or a Parisian belle, starting this April.

One of the centerpieces in the collection is the ballet dancer’s tutu, reinvented to be worn outside the studio. The basic, flared-out shape is maintained, but reimagined as a to-the-thigh cut in tiered material, or even a play on transparencies with tulle and solid underlay. Bows adorn the hips of several skirts as well, as a nod to ballet’s sweetest motifs.

Another key piece of the ballet dancer is the cardigan, reinvented in several ways with an asymmetric or peek-a-boo buttonline. A wrap-around robe also embodies the dancer’s charm. Fine knits create a light feel to these cover-ups, great for throwing onto any basic outfit when the weather gets nippy.

Of course, what would a ballet dancer’s wardrobe be without leotards? In this collection, the idea comes to the fore with body-conscious-tank tops and long-sleeved warmers with backless or tied-neckline, as well as halter details.

All in all, the iconic, timeless and pure models embody the feminine, light and graceful silhouette. When you wear these pieces, it’s easy to fall into a dancer’s feminine rhythm. The colors add to that feeling as well, with powder pastels and baby pinks and blues, grounded with gray and black. Layers of superimposed fabric create an airy sense of volume, while corset-like knitting embodies a dancer’s discipline.

The clothing line embodies Repetto’s timeless grace; a true pas de deux between the wearer and Repetto. Repetto is located at Greenbelt 3, Makati City.
