Baroque is back — and Anne Curtis and Georgina Wilson are loving it

MANILA, Philippines - The Baroque trend is back on all fashion runways. The Baroque period was marked by artistic influences in clothing, art, or architecture — think Michelangelo’s 16th century works with volutes, spiraling shapes and embellishments. Designers Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci, Oscar de la Renta, Aquilano Rimondi have drawn inspiration from this rich, opulent look in their luxe runway collections.

SM Accessories highlights today’s Baroque flourishes in its Vogue Baroque and Shakespeare in Love collections with Anne Curtis and Georgina Wilson leading the way.

Vogue Baroque is all about black and gold sophistication and style.  Dramatic black stones and lots of gilt are infused in dazzling neckpieces, elegant earrings and over-the-top cuffs. Nothing is left to chance in this collection, with every accessory studied and embellished. The combinations are endless, bold, rich and luxurious.

Georgina Wilson, who exudes a modern Renaissance spirit, says, “I always wear basic colors — black, white and nude. I wear accessories to add character to my outfit. With SM Accessories Vogue Baroque collection, I can make a stunning statement.”

The Shakespeare in Love collection, on the other hand, highlights Elizabethan romance and femininity. Tiny rosettes, acanthus leaves and delicate filigree accents exquisitely adorn ornate bracelets, neckpieces and earrings.

Anne Curtis likes the collection’s timeless elegance. “Classic touches and colors and, of course, romance, are never outdated,” she says.

The SM Accessories Vogue Baroque and Shakespeare in Love collections are available at all SM Stores.
