It was written in the stars. It was destiny. Mavis and I were meant to meet. We shared a table in one of the charity balls here in Manila last year and we discussed business in passing, never thinking that one day, our labels would make a perfect pair.
Named after “bright star” in Filipino, Tala is a brand inspired by today’s Filipina and the many activities that make up her life. Its collection is composed of simple yet elegant dressing solutions for the multi-facets the modern woman may have in her life. She can be a corporate player, wife, mother, or entrepreneur; Tala provides options for all her styling needs, which is exactly what JÔ Joyce Oreña is all about.
“Tala was created in honor of the many women who are constantly trying to find the balance in their everyday lives. Our efforts are towards creating dressing solutions for different needs, wants and ever-changing moods. Our inspiration is drawn from the lives of the people around us and from simple living.” explained proprietor Mavis Fuentebella.
Keeping this unique woman in mind, Tala and JÔ provide wardrobe staples that can simplify your life. Tala’s seasonal pieces yet timely reliable options are perfect canvases for my intricate and eclectic pieces. As you know, one of my passions is jewelry and accessories design and my designs completed Tala’s woman.
Tala provides easy, straightforward and uncomplicated dressing solutions for the busy, fashion-conscious woman. It exudes comfort and style. One outfit can be reinterpreted in so many ways. With just a tweak in the accessory, the outfit becomes tailor-fit – all-your-own. It makes it individual based on your style personality. You can also extend your wardrobe from day to night by simply changing your accessories. This is what the modern woman wants – quick and simple up-to-date alternatives with value for money. This is what we are all about.
When Mavis gave me a call to invite me to spruce up her new collection, I immediately said, ”yes!” The three-day trunk show was so well received that we extended it for the whole month of April. We hit it off so well. While we were setting up, we were already having the time of our lives pairing my pieces to her collection. We were like little girls again playing dress-up.
What really makes this collaboration work is that Mavis and I are one of those women. We feel their pulse. We know what they want because we want them, too.
