MANILA, Philippines - Can bourgeois be gorgeous? Bulgari says yes. Patricia Field says yes. Both presented a collection of precious one-of-a-kind jewels recently in Venice. The jewels were set in an exclusive installation created by Patricia Field for Bulgari titled “Bourgeois Gorgeous.”
Guests viewed the new jewels in a Venetian Palazzo setting, astonishingly enhanced by the concept and creations of one of fashion’s greatest visionaries.
“My collection for Bulgari’s evening is inspired by the superb Italian designed jewels and the most revered contemporary international designers, revered most highly by the House of Field. They are John Galliano, Alexander McQueen, Thierry Mugler and Viktor & Rolf. This collection also includes the participation of David Dalrymple, Tom Tom and others. My inspiration for this installation for Bulgari is a modern baroque theme, which to me is best interpreted as Bourgeois Gorgeous. We hope that our sumptuous presentation will be joyful and entertaining and present a beautiful framework for the magnificent jewels of Bulgari,” Field explains.
An Academy Award-nominated and Emmy award-winning film and television costume designer, Field raised the standards of television glamour with the most famous television show in history: Sex and the City. This true pioneer who brought fourth a new style of dressing for women and has stimulated an entire fashion movement throughout the world. Among her most famous projects are Sex and the City series and movies 1 and 2; Ugly Betty, The Devil Wears Prada, Confessions of a Shopaholic and Miami Rhapsody.
In the Philippines, Bulgari is available in Greenbelt 4, 6750 Ayala Avenue, and Rustan’s Silver Vault.
