MANILA, Philippines - Fashion designer Edgar Allan mounts an exhibit of wedding gowns inspired by iconic women in history like Marie Antoinette and Mata Hari, Bizet’s opera Carmen, Broadway’s Eliza Doolittle from My Fair Lady, romantic literature’s favorites Juliet and Guinevere, and celluloid’s memorable characters Princess Leah and Gigi.
Edgar relied on fabric, cut and proportion to achieve the glamour that surrounded these women of history and fiction, and capture the drama that made them memorable.
This special exhibit will be the 15th bridal display Edgar Allan and business partner Rene Tiongco have mounted in the 25 years of their boutique in Ayala Center.
It is also Edgar’s most personal and aesthetically fulfilling bridal collection. With the cooperation of Ayala Center, the exhibit runs from June 4 to 14 at the lobby of Glorietta 5, Ayala Center’s newest commercial edifice (between Rustan’s and Hotel Inter-Con) where the new Edgar Allan boutique is located.
